Rabbit and the Volcano
The rabbit chews on grass wide eyed as the ashes of the volcano fall around him. He is only aware of You. 12" x 16" canvas sheet, watercolor, chalk, pencil, hand crushed minerals.
I would describe myself as a tube that has grown a human exterior and has become sentient in order to find sustenance and replicate. I am a strange tube. A tube with multiple processing centers for various forms of input and output. I am a tube that exists for the sole purpose of existing for everything I do is in order to exist and I think that this operation of my tubular existence is beautiful.
I made this while I was working in a vineyard in Michigan. The mortarstone is limestone and the pestle is sandstone. I carved the mortar with the sandstone and inadvertantly made the pestle. This is the cornerstone of my artwork.
